Hi everyone. My name’s Aimee.

I’ll be writing, educating and guiding you through your 1Hour Break® experience, so that each and every one of us can truly enjoy life and experience more, without the overwhelming stress and anxiety that holds us back from living lives beyond our wildest dreams.

I’d like to share a bit of my personal story, and how I came to find 1Hour Break®. I’m a writer, a yogi, an avid meditator, and an expert when it comes to natural health and wellness. While I have many tools in my natural stress-relief arsenal, I haven’t been able to fill in ALL the gaps. That’s where 1Hour Break® comes so beautifully into play.

Like you, stress and anxiety are no stranger to me. I've experienced panic attacks and times of chronic anxiety throughout my life, but I've hesitated to take medication because I'm well schooled in the harmful side effects of pharmaceutical drugs. Having a degree in naturopathic medicine, I simply couldn't bring myself to fill a prescription.

I found what I like to call this little “bliss in a bottle” a.k.a. 1Hour Break® 2 years ago. I was 34 years old at the time, had just moved back to my hometown of Kansas City, and was staying with my mom and stepdad when life took a really scary turn, seemingly out of the blue.

One day, there was a huge lump that appeared on my stepdad’s throat. He finally said something about it, and proceeded to the doctor’s office. After three anxiety-ridden weeks as we waited, wondering if cancer would touch our lives too – the answer was a resounding yes. Stage-4 throat cancer, and the treatment would be brutal. Mom and I immediately took on full-time caregiving, and suddenly I was swimming in a deep sea of stress and anxiety. Even Supie, our sweet and highly-sensitive Yorkie-Poo began having seizures and was sent straight to the meds. My yoga and meditation practice were no longer luxuries. They were necessities. But I still needed something more to feel like my old self again.

It wasn’t always that way. Just a year before all this, I was swimming in the warm, turquoise-hued waters of Hawaii’s Kealakekua Bay. My tropical island life was filled with writing, blogging, cooking, yoga, kayaking with spinner dolphins and taking long, peaceful walks in the quaint Hawaiian neighborhood where I lived.

Island life was good, the sunsets spectacular, and the vibe so laid-back I slept like a baby every, single night. The soundtrack to my life at that time was all “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole – slack key guitar and ukulele melodies. There was only thing I’d missed out on during my Hawaiian experience. I never got around to trying the kava.

I’d heard of kava kava. In fact, my freshman year roommate back in college at Tulane used to take it to calm herself before our dance class with the scary ballet master. Whenever she popped the kava pill into her mouth we began dancing around and singing Brazilian jazz player Antonio Carlos Jobim’s “Agua De Beber.” (If you don’t know the song, look it up on youtube. It’s a kava kava kinda tune.)

But even then, I never got around to trying the kava. Until somehow I found 1Hour Break® and ordered a bottle online. This was back in the throes of our cancer days, and that little blue bottle (it’s white now) arrived in my mailbox at just the right time. I’ve been a loyal customer ever since.

As far as my family is concerned, the ending has been a happy one so far. The cancer has been gone for two years now, and my stepdad has lived to see his very first granddaughter. My youngest sister just gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

And as an ambassador for 1Hour Break®, I will be hosting a very limited FREE 1Hour Break Bottle Giveaway for those interested in trying it merely for the cost of shipping.

I can’t wait to share more with you, as we learn creative ways to integrate 1Hour Break into our daily lives and routines. I encourage you all to leave comments and ask questions below. Let’s have some honest conversations about stress, anxiety and panic attacks. And let’s get rid of any shame or stigma surrounding it all. You know, the most brilliant, creative and sensitive people throughout history – (think Abe Lincoln and Marcel Proust) - experienced the same. You’re in good company, believe me.

Until next time, here’s to enjoying life and experiencing more.
